Melanie Charlton is an international self-taught artist whose work is rooted in vibrant colors and detailed brushwork. Inspired by the soul or essence of her subjects Melanie creates paintings with a depth of emotion that last a lifetime. Her Imaginative Realism techniques have earned recognition from collectors in the USA, Canada and internationally. Melanie enjoys getting to know and understand who and/or what she is painting. The decision to focus on detailed work instead of painting commissions as fast as she can shows, and ultimately resulted in many repeat happy clients!

​Potrait Prices 
Tonal & Blurred Backgrounds are included across all sizes. (The painting of "Tobias" on the left is a great example of a blurred background) However for a modern look, an isolated image can be perfect just the way it is!
Detailed Backgrounds are included in the Medium & Large Sizes which includes landscape backgrounds, scenes, toys and extra pets. Melanie recommends the larger the better to capture lots of detail.

*Prices are listed in USD, shipping is not included and will based on the destination location, size and weight of the artwork (packaged).  Framing is available upon request at an additional cost.  Usually FedEx is used, however Clients are WELCOME to arrange their own shipping. *FOR LARGER PIECES PLEASE CONTACT!

Some Recent Works

Terms:
​Commission quotes remain valid for 30 days. Melanie will evaluate the details (your idea, subject/s, size, orientation, colors, and overall feeling/direction of the painting). After the details are confirmed, you will receive a commission quote based on the final size of and desired outcome for the painting.

• A deposit of 50% is due to start the process. The deposit is due within 10 days of the agreed start date and confirms the commission. Due to the nature of commissioned work, there may occasionally be a waiting period depending on current projects, and timelines can shift slightly as commissions progress.
• Shipping will be based on the actual size and destination of the piece. International shipments, oversized works, or specialty deliveries may require a custom shipping quote.
• Customs or import fees charged by the destination country remain the responsibility of the recipient. 
• When the painting is completed, the remaining balance & shipping is due prior to shipment. If you decide not to proceed after paying the deposit, the deposit is retained and the painting remains with the artist. Original commissioned paintings are final sale and cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged. 
• MELANIE CHARLTON RETAINS ALL COPYRIGHT OWNERSHIP OF IMAGES SHE CREATES. (This just means that you can not sell images of her work as prints or images for clothing/books/items etc.)
• All original paintings are professionally packaged heavy duty boxes or depending on size a protective wooden crate. They are shipped with full tracking and a required signature, Insurance is recommended and you are welcome to arrange your own shipping.  While every precaution and step is taken, Charlton Fine Art/Melanie Charlton is not responsible for lost or damgaged work, It is also highly recommended for someone to be on site when the painting arrives to avoid undesirable situations.  Once the work leaves Charlton Fine Art/Melanie Charlton's hands (photos & documented) it is being shipped on behalf of the client. 
• All Custom Commission work is 100% non-refundable.  (Which is why it does not ship until you are 100% satisfied!
